A warm fresh-food section can have several causes. The useful first distinction is whether only the refrigerator is warm, only the freezer is warm, or both sections have changed. Note that difference when you call for Sub-Zero refrigerator repair in Walnut Creek or elsewhere in the East Bay.
What you can check safely
Check the displayed setting.
Compare the selected temperature with the instructions for your model. Record any message or service indicator. A display setting is not a measurement of the food temperature.
Look for a door obstruction.
A projecting container or drawer can prevent a proper seal. Close the door without forcing it, and visually check the gasket for a gap or visible damage.
Think about recent changes.
A recent installation, a large grocery load or frequent door opening can affect temperatures. Sub-Zero advises allowing a newly installed unit time to reach its setting; consult the guidance for your model.
Keep the observations specific.
Write down when the problem began and whether the freezer, ice maker or another compartment also changed. Avoid repeated adjustments that make the pattern harder to describe.
Still having this problem?
Call with your Sub-Zero model and city to discuss an assessment.
Call (510) 543-2328When to stop and call for service
If cooling stays poor, an error returns, or the appliance behaves differently from normal, arrange an assessment. Do not remove service panels or attempt refrigerant work. A warm compartment alone does not identify a failed compressor.
Details that help when you call
The complete model helps distinguish built-in, integrated and column installations. Tell us whether cabinetry or a panel covers the doors, and whether the unit can be accessed without moving surrounding kitchen equipment.
Ask about appointment options, diagnostic charges and approval of any proposed repair. These checks provide context; they do not diagnose a failed part.
